Matt Kloskowski over at Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Killer Tips has just posted his A look back at Lightroom in 2007:

Happy New Years Eve everyone. I’ve got a question for you. This day, one year ago, were you even using Lightroom? Probably not right? Even if you had installed the beta (remember, the full version wasn’t out yet) you probably hadn’t really committed to it yet? Seriously. Think about it. Can you even imagine what it’s like to NOT be using Lightroom? I can’t. And it was only 1 year ago that I wasn’t. Crazy huh? It got me thinking of what would be a good post to end the year with. I went down the list of the traditional stuff: a) not posting and just take new years eve and day off, or b) Post the old “Predictions for 2008? post or c) take a look back at the product that this blog/podcast is all about and see how far we’ve come. Choice “a” – come on, it’s me. I can’t take the day off. Choice “b” – too predictable. Everyone does that right? So let’s go with choice “c” and take a look back. Trust me, there’s lots of cool little nuggets of information and interesting things throughout the list below.

Microsoft has posted a complete version of the HD Photo plug-in for Photoshop CS3 and CS2.  Here are the separate downloads for Windows and OSX.  The same features are supported on both Windows and OSX.  The files created with either version are fully compatible with Windows Vista, Windows Live Photo Gallery, the HD Photo Device Porting Kit, and several other applications that support HD Photo.

Thanks to Bill Crow at Microsoft for the update.  You can listen to the This Week in Media Episode 51 in which he discussed the genesis of HD Photo and image compression.  Just absolutely fabulous stuff.

OK, these are cool. If you’ve ever seen a Wacom Cintiq 21UX 21.3″ Graphics Tablet, you’ve wished you could use one when dodging and burning your photos. Now, Cintiq has introduced two additional models, the 20WSX and 12WX. I really like the Cintiq 12WX, it has a 12″ screen, under a $1000, yet compact enough to pack up and travel with you (16″ x 10.5″). Press Release below:

Wacom introduces two additions to the Cintiq family to give you options for working directly on screen. The Cintiq 12WX and the Cintiq 20WSX join the Cintiq 21UX as versatile interactive pen displays that combine the advantages of an LCD monitor with the natural feel and superior performance of Wacom’s patented, professional pen technology. The following is part seven of a much larger dSLR Dad Holiday Gift Guide:

If you’re not looking for a new bag, how about a great accessory that anyone can use, the Pee Wee Pixel Pocket Rocket from Think Tank Photo. It stores four Compact Flash cards and three Secure Digital cards in an even smaller, more compact package. Can be attached inside of Think Tank Photo products or to your clothing.  That way, it just doesn’t fall out of your pocket, lost forever.  It can also hold business cards in the front face.  Available for just $13.50. Note, the slightly larger Pixel Pocket Rocket comes standard with quite a few bags (including the one I bought).
