Pentax has released a firmware update for the K-7. According to Pentax, this firmware update, Version 1.01,incorporates the following fixes:
- Added [Operate at AF point “SEL”] on [Custom] menu and it can be selected either [1 Calling Function Preference] or [2 Select AF point Preference].
When selected [2 Select AF point Preference] and AF point switching dial is set at [SEL], selection of AF point can be operated priority by the four-way controller. How to operate additional function, Click Here.
- Improved stability for general performance
For example: when left- end focus point is selected, function of auto focus may rarely become unstable in particular shooting condition.

Canon has released a firmware update for the Canon EOS 50D dSLR Camera. According to Canon, this firmware update, Version 1.0.7, incorporates the following fixes:
- Corrects a phenomenon where captured images may tend to appear somewhat magenta depending on the shooting scene.
- Fixes incorrect indications on the Arabic, Romanian, Spanish, and Ukrainian menu screens.

Canon is really excited about this. The latest firmware for the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, version 1.1.0, will now let dSLR Dads manually control the exposure while shooting 1080p HD video:
This new firmware will accommodate a great number of user requests for manual exposure control in the EOS 5D Mark II video mode. Manual exposure control while shooting video on the EOS 5D Mark II is expected to make a big impact with cinematographers and videographers using the 5D Mark II for high-end HD video production.

It starting to seem like everybody got together and decided to update the firmware for every dSLR over the past week. Nikon, not wanting to feel left out, has updated the D40 to version 1.12. Olympus has updated the the E-30 dSLR firmware. This update is supposed to help:
- Reduce the sound of Image stabilizer operations when IMAGER AF and HYBRID AF are being used.
- Resolve the issue where pressing the delete button in Close-up playback occasionally caused the Card access lamp to blink.
- Resolve the issue where images with a changed aspect ratio played back with Index display sometimes had horizontal stripes.
