What was the A100,a 20D/D200 competitor, when it was introduced has now been replaced by the A700 in terms of market positioning. The A200 now slides into the very competitive D40x and Rebel XTi/400D market. True, it is comparable this week on paper, but I still believe that by February 2nd, it may seem woefully under featured with what Canon and Nikon bring back to the table. This may leave Sony fighting with Pentax for a distant #3 position in that market segment. The fact that Sony picked CES to announce this dSLR and not PMA is fairly telling.

Don't get me wrong, I want Sony to bring more to the table. Nothing like a little competition by a couple consumer electronics giant to spur on the competition. I just feel that the remaining Minolta dSLR Dads deserve more.

Speaking for the world are you. I know many that must be from a different planet then. Worth noting is that his camera is 300 dollars less than the A100 when it was introduced and has addressed the shortcoming of it. Not to mention has a major overhaul of the user interface, a bigger lcd, a quieter shutter, higher max ISO setting... etc. etc.

I yawn at your title.
